I thought that Franco Noël was a tremendous success. You and your team should be very proud of what you have accomplished. I think yesterday was a “good news” story that needs to be told. There was an excellent turnout. There were people from all corners of the world, there were different races, there were Muslims and Christians, there were people who would have been mortal enemies in their own country, there were young and old. They all talked, laughed, ate and drank together. They participated in activities together, they worked together and stayed late in the evening to clean up together. The atmosphere was joyous and upbeat. Everyone had fun. There was a gift box for individuals to contribute money to for those who were less fortunate and needed some help in paying for the cost of entry. This event was an example of humanity at its finest. To me it is what being a Christian (and perhaps Muslim) is all about. It is what we as a Francophone community, our City and our country Canada needs if we are all to connect, work and live together in harmony.

I think that fitting with the season this is a very successful “good news” story that needs to be acknowledged, celebrated, promoted - and built on. I would think the options for telling this story include l'Eau vive, the Star Phoenix and perhaps even the Bishops of Saskatoon.

Just a thought. Again, congratulations on a job well done.
